Munduk Wilderness is the first and only adventure operator in Bali using the Indonesian built unconventional off road vehicle Fin Komodo. This sturdy two-seater utility vehicle can zoom over the most difficult terrain with remarkable agility. Combined with mountain bikes equipped for rough terrain, the traditionally hidden hinterlands now become accessible, ready to be explored! Our Base Camp is located in the small friendly village of Munduk, high up in the mountains with gorgeous views, surrounded by numerous waterfalls, clove, cocoa, and coffee plantations and stunning rice fields. Our young and energetic team is dedicated to meet our customers’ needs effectively, with attention to detail and on-going training, training in First Aid and Safety procedures allows us to combine fun with safety! An area of hilly plantations, lakes, waterfalls and forests in Central Bali. Enjoy driving over and through the mountain tracks and back roads of central Bali with its misty forests and pristine crater lakes. The vehicles of choice are Indonesia-made off-road 4-wheelers — the Finn Komodo – combined with mountain bikes equipped for rough terrain. There are several different tours to choose from, so there is always something that suits your interest, age and fitness level!

HAUNTED VALLEY WATERFALL EXPEDITION

[via village rice fields to Lembah Jinn Waterfall, combining mountain bikes & Finn Komodo or using Fin Komodo only, no bike]Meet at 10.00 a.m. at Munduk Wilderness Base Camp for the day’s briefing and your introduction and safety preparations for driving the Finn Komodo. You will also be assigned your mountain bike for the day’s journey — 85% downhill, over a combination of sealed and dirt roads. Set off on the bicycles with your guide, and enjoy the peace of the country roads. Take a break for a walk through the rice-fields, emerging at a spot where the Komodo vehicles await you, with the bikes on top. Take your first short 15-minute drive over relatively easy roads to the vicinity of the waterfall. After another 15 minutes leisurely walk into the Valley of the ghosts (Lembah Jinn) you will find lots of bathing spots in the stream and quiet places for exploration and meditation. Rested and refreshed after bathing in the pools and an energizing snack, walk back up to the road and drive the Komodos through the village plantations and back roads up to the Munduk Wilderness Base Camp for a late lunch.

LUWAK TRAIL EXPEDITION

Meet at 10.00 a.m. at Munduk Wilderness Base Camp for the day’s briefing and your introduction and safety preparations for driving the Finn Komodo. DRAGON’S BREATH EXPEDITION

[meander to the hot springs, downhill biking and then back up with the Finn Komodo vehicles or by using fin Komodo only, no bike]
Start from Munduk Wilderness Base Camp at 10.00 a.m. with the introduction and safety briefing for driving the Fin Komodo. Choose your mountain bike, and install it on your vehicle. Drive 15 minutes to Asah Munduk, for a fabulous view of two crater lakes. Take the bikes from here over back roads, all down-hill traversing narrow tracks through cloves and coffee plantations, with beautiful views out over the coast to Java and the Indian Ocean. After approximately one hour of cycling, enter a plantation track where the Komodo vehicles await. The next half an hour will be spent zooming over rough dirt roads that look impassable, discovering the remarkable abilities of your vehicles, as you head up-hill through gardens and wilderness. Return to the bikes for the last downhill stretch to the Buddhist monastery. After viewing the monastery drive the Komodos another 30 minutes to the Banjar natural hot springs. Enjoy a relaxing swim in the hot springs, or a private jacuzzi—massage is available for those who have weary muscles. Lunch will be served at the hot spring restaurant. Set off by Komodo for the return journey uphill at 2.30 to reach base camp by 3 p.m.
